Marcel Tomasek, MA Print
Marcel Tomášek is lecturer in sociology at the School of Social Studies, Masaryk University, Brno. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Center for Public Policy. Mr. Tomasek was a visiting fellow at the Transregional Center for Democratic Studies (New School University in New York ) in fall 2000. He received an MA in Sociology from Central European University (Warsaw) and an MA in Politics and History from Palacký University (Olomouc, the Czech Republic). He also studied at Aarhus University (Denmark) and Miami University (Ohio). His research interests touch extensively the issue of transformation in Central/Eastern Europe (CEE) in regards to European integration (illegal economy, corporate governance and banking sector - forms of state capture in CEE). His research also focuses on political cleavages, euro-skepticism and ethnic relations in CEE. More recently his interests have involved the theme of marital behavior and single-hood in CEE societies.
